Map, Zones and Guardians

Version: v0.8.18 | Updated: 2026-10-22 | Evidence: recorded traces + in-game prompt text + client source Zone 2/3 first-hand data still being collected (0 clears so far); unverified parts are labeled.

Run structure

PhaseTimerWhat happens
Zone 1/310:00 countdownLevel up, catch Alphas, find the shrine
Timeout—FINAL SWARM: ×6 spawns; effectively a wipe countdown
Guardian defeated—A portal appears; press E to enter the next zone
Zones 2/3, 3/310:00 eachHarder; legendary guardian after zone 3 → clear

Measured: spawn density climbs through zone 1; the danger rating goes 安全 (Safe) → 適中 (Moderate) around minute 5; after minute 7 wild packs can chew through sub-Lv10 characters (100% of the 50 baseline deaths happened here).

Shrines & guardians (the intended way forward)

Prompts near the shrine (original text, EN / 中文):

  1. "Touch the shrine"(触碰圣地)→ press E
  2. "Awaken the guardian"(唤醒守护者)→ the guardian spawns, bossbar appears
  3. "The shrine pulses violently"(圣地剧烈搏动)→ Unown altar charging

Defeat the guardian and a portal appears; press E to enter the next zone.

Lost in a zone? Open Tab and look for the red ring — that's your way out.

bossbar reference (measured)

  • Main boss bar: .bossbar — name (bb-name), bar (bb-bar), sub-text (bb-sub; shows boss moves, e.g. "Poison Sting!")
  • Mini bar: .bossbar.mini, top of the screen — apex/mini bosses
  • Apexes recorded in Verdant Woods zone 1: Arbok "Apex" (beaten down to 2.9% by a Lv33 player; spawns in every run), Rattata "Apex", Pidgeotto "Apex" (summons escorts). The banner reads: "Apex Pokémon! {name} exudes a powerful aura…"

FINAL SWARM — measured

  • At 0:00 the timer flips to +1:00 counting up and danger jumps to Savage (残暴).
  • Human reference: a Lv33 / 4,439-kill run with two maxed moves survived the swarm for 7 seconds. You cannot out-DPS the swarm; the portal is the only way out of a zone.
  • Practical order: start moving toward the shrine ~1 minute before you plan to fight; if the guardian is too strong, kite to the map edge and come back stronger.
  • All measured timeout deaths happened within 30s after the timeout.

Buddy Ball (new mechanic)

An interactable "Buddy Ball" grants a temporary companion: "it fights beside you this run (8s) · support: pickup range +1" — value still being evaluated.

Zone 1 survival checklist (from human-vs-bot data)

The human outperformed the bot by an order of magnitude (Lv19/862 kills in ~5 min vs Lv6/70 in 2 min). The three human advantages are your checklist:

  1. Dodge projectiles instead of tanking — pull and reposition.
  2. Take move cards greedily — the human's four slots were all attacks (Water Gun 6 / Bubble 3 / Soak 2 / Rapid Spin 3 on Squirtle; Fire Spin MAX + Flamethrower MAX on Charmander).
  3. Fight or flee deliberately: if an apex's bar melts you, disengage, clear adds, come back.
